The family resided in Park Avenue and contributed to the local community through their agricultural pursuits. The naming of Rumgay Street serves as a recognition of their involvement in the development and growth of the region, highlighting the importance of local families and their contributions to the area’s history. Jeanie Rumgay married one of the son’s of John Tilbury, who have another street named after their house, Airdrie Avenue.
