Avalon Crescent, located in Avalon, was formerly known as Magnolia Crescent, part of the Mason’s Gardens estate. In the 1920s, subdivider James Stellin acquired the land and created the Avalon Park subdivision, which included the renaming of the street. Stellin named the street after his daughter, Beatrice Avalon Hart Stellin, who was born a few years earlier. The name “Avalon” is also associated with the Arthurian legend, a mythical island paradise that was said to be the final resting place of King Arthur.
